AI Interview
For the last week I've been working with Andy Irons and Blair Marlin (AI's manager) on the AI interview that Surfline put up today.
After a tumultuous couple years on tour, Andy has decided to take 2009 off. One of the many interesting facets to this story is that Andy is perhaps the first surfing superhero to watch his personal challenges be mulled over by a vast jury of internet surfers.
Andy admitted to me that he isn't too "computer-sauvey" and therefore he didn't read many of the things that media and fans have written about him. (Although he did read the Power Ranking in which I compared an Andy Irons heat to an Amy Winehouse concert. Kaiborg and Andy discussed the analogy and decided it was close enough to the truth to be funny.)

Come on Lewis, give us the whole story here…you know, the drugs, the bitterness towards Brucey, who made off like a bandit with Volcom, the “Billabong hasn’t done anything for me” talks and AI’s total inability to function without his Mrs. The Surfline story was nice, but we all know it’s just fluff.

“AI: Coming Clean” give me a break. Every interview with AI is the same old softball bullshit. Throw the guy fastball. Was it the blow? All nighters? Did you spend time in rehab? If you read all the shit on Surfermag BB, that is what people want to know. The subject has yet to be broached.
If A-Rod can come clean about ‘roids, AI can sack up and give his fans a solid “Yes” or “No” to the questions.
ps. I just read the new rookie rankings today, comparing Bacalaso to Chunk?!? Zing! and also “within a RVCA pant leg of qualifying in ‘07″

Lewis probably won’t deny that Surfline won’t let him print the real story. Once he does he’ll lose access to any and every pro on tour. I hope there’s a book in the works, or at least that Lewis is ready to write the whole story once AI totally implodes, which we all know he will.

I wanted to buy a Bong5/3 but dropped it immediately when i remembered their star rider said he lost his heat because he was too cold.

For the reason that there are various blogs with many points of view, they test your perception. It’s at these moments when you have fantastic insignt other people may not have had, which include the blogger himself/herself.
