Surfers from all over the world competed in the first ever PerfectPro today. This APS tour stop is truly one of its kind. Situated in the heart of the Netherlands, this first man-made pointbreak delivered (obviously) perfect 6 to 8 feet peeling surf. Fans in the arena enjoyed a day of great competition, unforgettable maneuvers, live music and the crowning of a champion. We sat down with Klaas Peter, founder of PerfectSurf to ask him more about the SurfArena.

Surfers Magazine: Why the Netherlands? Why here?

PerfectSurf: Why not here? The Dutch have encountered far worse problems regarding water than “just” the recreation of J-bay wave in our backyard. We realized we had everything going for us. Sponsors were willing to finance, we had qualified technicians and specialists and even politicians endorsed the idea of a “Surf Arena”

Who knows? Maybe Lewis himself is In Defense. It is entirely possible that Mr. Samuels has decided to try and get sober after drinking like a sailor in Oz and his sponsor told him to retire Blashemy Rottmouth and get in touch with who he really is as a person. That would explain it.
